ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage recruitment, sprints, and production for 46 people with Notion database systems & block schedules

  • Craft marketing strategy, maintain asset documentation, and manage investor and playtester feedback

  • Pilot Try Again brand including budgeting, product development strategy, marketing strategy, and player acquisition

  • Define milestone (vertical slice, alpha, beta, gold master) relative to Try Again, schedule each team and team member's sprints to reach milestone

  • Organizing daily logistics for team meetings, communicate blockers and status updates between teams

  • Assist with weekly playtest coordination, communicate playtest feedback between teams and investors

  • Present builds, game product reports, and production updates to industry professionals & faculty bi-weekly

  • Manage interface designers' weekly iterations, collect and disperse feedback for UI iterations, outline specific design and art goals for each UI element

OVERVIEW

For fans of edgy, fast-paced action games, Try Again takes kinetic action gameplay that keeps players engaged and entwines it with a satirical narrative. Players take on the role of a sentient AI as they try to beat the game designer at their own creation.

TRY AGAIN is a 2.5d “spectacle platformer” about a “video game crash test dummy” named Benny who is trapped inside of an unfinished game by a mysterious, Oz-like figure called, “The Designer.” Benny needs you to get him out of this sisyphean greybox-level design facility.
